Kia to Run 2018 Super Bowl Ad

The 2018 Super Bowl will be similar to the past eight in at least one way: Kia will be unveiling an advertising campaign during it. Many are already wondering who will be the star in this year’s ads, following in the footsteps of VIPs such as Christopher Walken, Pierce Brosnan – and Melissa McCarthy, whose spot called “Hero’s Journey” won the USA TODAY Super Bowl ad meter last year.

Interestingly, Kia has hired Saad Chehab to head up the project. If you’re not familiar with the name, he is the man who is responsible for the highly acclaimed “Born of Fire” Chrysler Super Bowl campaign a few years ago. “Kia doesn’t lack advertising success in the Super Bowl,” he says. “It’s more now, how do you continue this great work that they’ve already done and start introducing additional customers to your brand that have not yet considered it?”

Last year’s Super Bowl between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots saw eight automakers run a total of 10 commercials. While we don’t know which teams will be representing the AFC and NFC in the 2018 Super Bowl, we now can be sure of one company that will certainly have a presence during the championship game, which will be played on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
